Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Bridgeport

Seeking Speakers for Upcoming Service

Dear Members, A few years ago, several speakers participated in collage services entitled Hide and Seek with God.

In these services, we heard from members who shared their unique beliefs regarding God or a higher power.

These services were very well received, and showcase the spiritual diversity of our Unitarian Universalist faith.

I am seeking members and friends who are willing to participate in a new installment of this service, exact date to be determined.

For instance, I would love to hear from speakers who:
(and these are just some examples)

-believe in a singular God in a traditional Christian or Jewish sense, like a heavenly father
-believe there is no God or higher power of any kind
-believe in multiple Gods and Goddesses
-believe in more of a personal or internal God, that God is different within each one of us
-speakers who are still trying to determine just what they believe
Some guiding questions to consider as you prepare your talk:
-how did you come to these conclusions about God
-how does your perspective connect to your life as a UU
-how does your perspective affect how you live your life and interact with others
-has your perspective ever caused conflict, both internal or between you and family, friends, etc.

Reflections should be approximately 3-5 minutes long, and must be written in advance as opposed to being spoken ad lib. For both collaboration and planning purposes, reflections need to be submitted to the worship weaver two weeks before the service.

As the worship leader, I am happy to answer questions and help you as you prepare your talk.

I look forward to hearing from you, and look forward to a thought provoking collage service!!
