About church finances
The Finance Committee oversees fund-raising and collections for the
church and advises the Board of Trustees on budgetary matters. In recent
years, the committee has coordinated a Capital and Improvements Campaign
that repaired the Sanctuary roof and put new doors on Fellowship Hall,
a new computer in the minister's office, and a new kitchen in the church.
Part of the money raised also enabled the congregation to expand its
education and music programs. The remainder is reserved for expanding
the parking lot and controlling rain-water run-off.
Each year the Finance Committee also coordinates an annual Pledge Canvass.
Members' annual pledges make up the bulk of the monies available for
maintaining the church and its programs.
Click to see the pamphlet generated during a recent Pledge Canvass. The pamphlet explains what pledge dollars are used for, and the costs of maintaining the church.

The other half of the fiscal picture -- expenditure -- is the responsibility
of the church treasurer and the Board. Although the treasurer is, under
the bylaws, a member of the Finance Committee, he or she is prohibited
from chairing it.
