At the UU Church of Greater Bridgeport, the music program, directed by our multi-talented Music Director, is open to everyone -- even non-church members -- from beginner to past master. Music is tremendously important to our community. It is a way of sharing, and it is a complement to worship services and to other events. The church prides itself on the quality of the music program. This is particularly because of the contributions of the dedicated Music Director and the talented members and friends of the congregation. The congregation includes a number of professional musicians in the classical, jazz, rock, and folk traditions. The Revelation Jazz Ensemble plays several times each year, and the members of the group often join the church's amateur vocalists and instrumentalists during Sunday services. The Revelation Jazz Ensemble, with Martha Meyer on piano, plays for the c0ngregation in services and also in concert. In the picture above, the Ensemble is playing at the Unitarian Society of New Haven in Hamden as part of a music exchange that will bring their choir to a service in Stratford.
Several times a year, musical performances, often planned by the music committee, are held at the church. These have included jazz, folk, classical and choral concerts, and folk and rock coffeehouse events. The Stratford and entire greater Bridgeport community is encouraged to attend, to be entertained and uplifted. Sing
